The simple method of collection and permanent availability make saliva an interesting alternative to other sample materials such as urine or blood. Saliva is especially suitable if samples need to be taken quickly, efficiently and non-invasively. Greiner Bio-One has developed the unique oral fluid collection device and quantification system based on a liquid saliva extraction solution that is suitable for a wide range of applications when used with the appropriate saliva analytics. These applications range from drug and medication monitoring, the quantification of periodontal inflammatory parameters to the detection of human, viral and microbial DNA. The system is made up of various components:
a saliva extraction solution for collection, a collecting cup, two vacuum tubes for the test in the laboratory and the saliva quantification kit for the photometric measurement of the saliva in the obtained saliva collection solution.
